Scott is a retired Department of Energy and Environmental Protection employee with 18 years of experience at the agency. He is a graduate of the Connecticut police and corrections academies and retired from the Army with a total of 25 years of active and reserve service. He has a merchant marine masters license and is a boating instructor for the State of Connecticut and the US Coast Guard Auxiliary.
